AIFD’s Revolution

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
Well, I am here, but the big “done that” part really begins tomorrow with the stage shows!
Yesterday in a marketing meeting, Chris Norwood, AIFD, made the statement “Symposium is really like fashion week for flowers”
A brilliant statement, one I wholeheartedly agree with.
Runway fashion is all about the glitz and glam, and pushing design to the limit. Its about jaw dropping creativity, wow factor, inspiring, edgy, over-the-top, cutting edge trends and techniques. Its conceptual and creative. It sets the standard and creates a level of expectation.
So does AIFD.
So its the 4th of July, and I have much to celebrate and be thankful for. I am in a city of tremendous history, surrounded with the top floral design professionals in the world. I have amazing friends, beautiful flowers, and a terrific family to see when I leave Boston and go home.
The week will fly by, the programs will flow into each other, the creativity will be palpable. And AIFD will deliver the floral equivalent of runway fashion for flowers. And much, much more.
