Silver Wreath

Remember my post about the summer to-do list? Well you’ll be delighted to know I am mowing through it and making some progress.

I love making progress. And I love this wreath!

I was sifting through my collection of old silver trays that I have gathered through the years, and inspiration struck. Silver trays? you may ask….seems a little stodgy & old school….call it what you will, but I’ve always had a soft place in my heart (and a place on my shelf) for cut crystal & silver. Mason jars & burlap come & go but crystal & silver are forever!

I got a wild hair one day (you HAVE seen my hair, no?) and wondered what it would be like to make my trays into a wreath. I approached my father with the idea ( he LOVES my ideas!) and we set to work on brainstorming how to make it happen.

I’m tickled with the result, and while the intent was for this to join my wedding props, I think I shall keep it in my home on my wall for now.

So, there is one project off my to-do list, only to be followed by a new project: find more silver trays….

Beautiful! What a wonderful thing to do with them. I love old silver. Even old and tarnished.
