When the snow comes, many things come with it:
Making copious amounts of soup.
Finding alllll the layers of clothes for my children to wear out in the snow.
Scrambling to find the sleds…where ARE they? In the rafters? The basement? At my sisters house?
And the ubiquitous SNOW ICE CREME.
At least I thought it was ubiquitous.
Its not, ’cause my friend Sprout the florists from Massachusetts
did not know about snow creme!
She did however know about adding maple syrup to snow, which sounds really yummy as well!
And I had ANOTHER direct message on Twitter asking for the recipe, so here it is:

  • 8 cups (1 gallon) freshly fallen pristine snow
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon clear vanilla extract
  • 2 cups cool whip or whipping creme (whipped!)

Place snow into a large bowl. Pour condensed milk over and add vanilla and whipping creme. Mix quickly and lightly to combine. Serve immediately in bowls!
Hope my friend Sprout and everyone else enjoys it!

Ho ho! This sounds yummy! I have never heard of it before, and if I thought I could find pristine snow here in the city, I would try it!

I will save the recipe for my nephew who lives some place where the snow is a little cleaner!
