So the new website is up! Since you are already here, you should check it out. The shopping cart is full of treasures that you really should have, with new stuff being added all the time. I like how it moves and how it looks. I like the stuff we have to sell.
I am excited about our new online home.
BUT…..I have to make a confession. Getting the website pulled together was wretched. Like BAD. AWFUL. I don’t even want to talk about it. Right now the back of my knees are sweating just thinking about how challenging it was.
Thomas Edison said “I found 10,000 ways that won’t work” on his journey to creating the lightbulb. Yep. Me too. The creative journey/being self employed my entire life is full of failures. You might not see them, and its not very sexy to talk about the snafus, but rest assured I have a long long list. And you know what? As long as I rack up more success than failure, I can live with it. As long as I get the anticipated result at the end of the process, I am OK. Perhaps a little worse for the wear, but it’s worth it.
The path was challenging, but at the end of the day, I have a website that I love. It can grow with us.
Even when we are not at the shop, the web is there 24/7 so you can reach out and connect at your convenience. In your jammies. From home.
(at home in my jammies is my favorite place BTW)
We have expanded this year to take on more interior clients & establish ourselves as a purveyor of lifestyle, so we needed a website to reflect that. And this one does. From jewelry to gifts to home decor to our ever expanding lighting and rugs, and lets of course not forget the flowers and weddings! See, its a whole lifestyle concept. We are still “doing our part to make your world more beautiful”. It’s just that our world has gotten quite a bit bigger.
Steve has also joined me full time! The past 11 months he has helped me sooooo much. I can’t even tell you how much I love having him around. He has a great eye, is a fantastic designer, and has taken so much of the work load from me! He has also been painting and wallpapering and hanging pictures & window treatments and helping our clients pull things together. He also pulls me together, so I am grateful. It also frees me up to take on exciting freelance projects so I have gotten to travel quite a bit too.
People are saying “You two are like Chip and Joanna!” Except I am not Asian, or tiny. And I act wayyyy more like Chip. And I don’t think everything has to be rustic farmhouse with shiplap. But it’s a compliment and I will take it!
That’s where we are at and what’s been going on.
Hang around here a bit, check out the site, let us know what you think, holler if you need us, and let us know and what you would like to see. We are honored to be pulling looks & homes & events together for more than 25 years now. Here’s to 25 more! By then, maybe I’ll be recovered from the website update.
